Adlius is an advertising network company that has a green heart. Our mission is to help create a Greener Tomorrow by reducing greenhouse gas emissions through cost-effective means. We want to transform the roadways by providing FREE aerodynamic transport truck enhancements. We believe that a few small changes, compounded over millions of vehicles, can make a huge difference. Between our enthusiasm for novel advertising methods and our passion to create a ecologically friendly business, it is no wonder that our tagline is “Brilliant. Advertising.”
The Adlius way is “Advertising For A Greener Tomorrow”, and it is a saying that we take pride in. Let’s dive into what it means, how we are striving to achieve our goals, and what it means for you!
As society grows, globalization becomes more widespread, and companies like Amazon start to provide every corner of the world with “Prime Shipping”, it is not surprising that there are more and more deliveries being made. Whether you are aware of it or not, transport trucks are the backbone of the commercial delivery system. As society consumes more and more, there will be an ever increasing need for transport trucks to meet those demands. It goes without saying that with more trucks on the road comes more pollution.
In Canada and other developed countries, there are huge efforts being undertaken to ensure that commercial growth does not pollute the planet for our future generations. One such effort is Canada’s Environmental mandate which is aimed at reducing the Greenhouse Gas Emissions by heavy-duty vehicles over the coming years. It is our goal to be a part of this effort.
Daltonomous Inc., the legal owning entity of Adlius, was founded to create EV and Autonomous technologies to radically shift how they interact with vehicles in our day-to-day lives. By striving to be an industry leader in an EV or Autonomous segment they have an unsurpassed commitment to environmental protection through sustainable and clean technologies. Consequently, Adlius was formed solely to help bring this vision to reality.
Our goals as an organization
If you look carefully on our website, you can see that we have two main goals: the first is to save 1 million litres of diesel by 2025, and the second is to become carbon neutral by 2022. Let’s look at each of these goals.
1 Million litres of diesel.
Sounds like a lot doesn’t it? It is. But it’s a large goal that is keeping us pushing hard. Let’s look at how we are going to achieve this. It’s important that we are transparent in our methodology. We don’t just want to say “Oh look, we did it” without being able to prove that we did it.
First we look at the trucks. As of writing this article, transport trucks tend to get about 6mpg, or about 34L/100kmwhen they are fully loaded. We estimate that yearly, one transport truck will cover 100,000km. That equates to 34,000L of diesel used! When we place a GreenWing skirt on a transport truck, we see a real-world fuel savings of 6%, or about 2,040L of diesel saved. If we divide 1 million by 2,040, we get ~490. If we take that number and divide it by 8 (the numbers of years, at the time of this writing, to get to 2025), we get a number just below 62. So we need to outfit 62 trucks per year by 2025. We are ready to take on this challenge!
Carbon Neutral by 2022
This one is hopefully a bit of a stepping stone for our more lofty goal of saving 1 million litres of diesel. Our goal here is to make our operations carbon neutral. We will do this in a variety of ways:
- The GreenWings use recycled material in their construction. They are also extremely long lasting, which helps to minimize their carbon footprint
- We intend to deliver the GreenWings by utilizing hybrid truck technologies, and CNG conversions.
- Our offices and warehouses will be built to use renewable energies such as solar and wind. We will try to pump electricity back into the grid to offset other costs.
- Adoption of a paperless system
- Our ads will transition from a PVC material to a 100% recyclable material.
- The ink we are using will transition from oil-based to biodegradable or environmentally friendly.
As we push forward, and technology advances, we will do our best to adopt greener methods. Come on Elon, give us an electric truck!
What does this mean for you?
Our company hopes to provide our customers with outstanding value. For the trailer owners, they receive free aerodynamic skirts which saves them real cash, and fuel. Advertisers get extremely cost effective ad space with a positive environmental message. For everyone else, they get to breath in a sigh of relief (and fresh air!) knowing that when they see our ads, that there are tangible environmental savings.
It’s time to advertise for a Greener Tomorrow!
